Bridges in the Community in Caversham Reading and Sonning Common

Bridges are more than just your regular local estate agent. All of us live and work in the area. We are committed to supporting our local schools (many of which we have attended!) and organisations to raise money through sponsorship.

Below are a selection of events we’ve been proud to and continue to sponsor.

October 2023 – Kidmore End Primary School Glow Disco

What a fantastic amount raised at the disco, and a great time had by all.

October 2023 – Sonning Common Preschool Scarecrow Trail

Bridges were delighted again to sponsor prizes for the competition helping the Preschool to raise much needed funds.

The results were: 1st Place, Abbeycrest Nursing Home, 2nd Place, Sonning Common Primary School Kites Class, 3rd Place, Pete Wickham in Reades Lane.

September 2023 – The Heights Primary School Annual Golf Day

The Heights Annual golf day took place on 28 September at The Caversham Golf Club and raised over £6,000 for the school.

July 2023 - Sonning Common Pre School Family Fun and Sports Day

A selection of photos from Sonning Common Pre-school’s latest fund raising activities. Bridges were honoured once again to be asked to sponsor the frames and the children produced some magnificent artwork which raised much needed funds for the Preschool.

July 2023 – Maiden Erlegh Chiltern Edge MECE

Andrew Hartley and some pupils from MECE were pleased to accept this cheque from Andy Richards at Bridges. The £914.93 was in relation to our pledge to donate 15% of our fee back to local schools like Maiden Erlegh Chiltern Edge. Are you thinking of selling your house? Rotherfield United 50th Anniversary Community Day

Jo Rosser, Manager at Bridges Caversham was delighted to present this cheque for £1509.88 to Mrs Jones-King , Co-Headteacher of Caversham Primary School, Astrid Marker, parent and vendor and a selection of lovely pupils. July 2023 – Caversham Primary School

“Thank you very much for your kind offer to sponsor our recent Summer BBQ by contributing towards the inflatables hire and for your continued support of the staff and pupils of Caversham Primary School. The inflatable obstacle course and bouncy castle were both extremely popular with the children this year and really helped us achieve our fundraising objectives as well as making the event so enjoyable for our community.”

July 2023 – Sonning Common Pre-school

Bridges were pleased to provide the bouncy castle for Sonning Common Pre-school Summer Fair and help in their fundraising efforts.“Sonning Common Summer Fair was a great success. Preschool raised £473! We are thrilled, as doubled our fundraising total from last year. We couldn’t have done this without the support from Bridges.”

May 2023 - Kidmore End Primary School

April 2023 – Sonning Common Pre-school

“Fantastic news – Bingo Night raised £395 for the Preschool! I’m thrilled, this was a really great event and a brilliant amount to raise. We couldn’t have done it without Bridges support and your voucher donation was really appreciated”.

April 2023 – Heights Quiz Night

Photo from the Heights Quiz Night - Bridges donated the top prize of JL vouchers. The Heights quiz made a fantastic £1,249.

March 2023 - Maiden Erleigh Spring Raffle

Thank you to Andy for donating the prize for our raffle, we raised £561 which will go straight back to the school to enrich the education of our students.

March 2023 - The Heights Primary Easter Trial

Torrential rain did not put a dampener on The Heights Primary Easter Trail held on the last day of term. It was a pleasure for us to be able to sponsor the event again this year buying the fabulous craft and sporty prizes for the Easter tombola. The event raised over £1,200 for the school and the children had a fantastic time following the trail and solving the Easter riddle to win a prize. There were lots of yummy cakes and chocolatey prizes too!

March 2023 - The Hill Easter Raffle

The children had a lovely time at The Hill’s Easter Raffle for which Bridges provided the eggs. Over £300 was raised on the day.

December 2022 – Sonning Common Preschool Christmas Fayre

We were delighted to sponsor the craft stall at the Sonning Common Preschool Christmas Fayre this year. The children had so much fun on the day!

December 2022 – St Andrews preschool Christmas Performance

So honoured to be invited to St Andrew’s preschool Christmas performance and raffle draw this week. Here is our very own Carley meeting some of the super star performers and presenting the raffle prizes, including the top prize which we donated to the raffle in support of this wonderful preschool.

December 2022 – Caversham Primary School Christmas Fun Day

Another fun afternoon enjoying Christmas fun, this time at Caversham Primary School’s Christmas Fun Day on Saturday 10th December. Always such a pleasure to support our local schools.Here is our lovely Jo helping to serve up the mulled wine we donated, as well as a raffle prize.

December 2022 – The Heights Christmas Fayre

Lots of fun had on Saturday supporting The Heights Primary at their Christmas Fayre. Delighted to have been one of the many fantastic local businesses helping The Heights Primary to raise over £2,000 for the raffle.

November 2022 – Scarecrow Trail

Sonning Common Pre-school raised £250 from their Scarecrow trail, Bridges were delighted to donate donated the winning prize voucher and 5 runner up Smyths Toy Vouchers.

October 2022 – Sonning Common Preschool

Bridges were delighted to be invited to take part in the annual Heights School Golf day and sponsor a hole. A thoroughly enjoyable day was had by all and we understand £8000 was raised in the process! We look forward to being involved in future fund raising events for this excellent local school.

Here is a lovely photo taken at the St Andrews pre-school sports day, of Hilary Coome (The manager of St. Andrews Pre-School), our very own Carley Hutchins and Amanda Chenery one of the teachers who recently sold her house through Bridges! and because she did we will be donating 15% of the Commission fee for Amanda’s house sale to the Pre-school (just over £1000.00).

June 2022 – Caversham Primary School Fun Fest – Bridges sponsored the Bouncy Castle

This was a fantastic day full of fun for all the family! Bridges don’t often sell castles so we thought we would sponsor one instead! A bouncy one!

Bridges are delighted to bring to the market this beautifully presented three bedroom detached house constructed by house builder of high repute Linden homes just two years ago.

May 2022 – Caversham Primary School Fun Run

Bridges covered the costs for the race numbers and medals for Caversham Primary School’s Fun Run on Sunday 22 May.

May 2022 – Maiden Erlegh Chiltern Edge First prize in Raffle and 15% fee to Chiltern Edge

April 2022 – We supported The Hill Primary School's non-uniform day and Easter egg raffle!

The school were able to buy and raffle over 200 eggs and give every child a bag of sweets or a chocolate Lolly. They asked for donations to wear non-school uniforms and raised over £320! Well done to the organisers, and enjoy your Easter treats, everyone.
